Mindfulness meditation classEvery Thursday 13:30-14:30
Mindfulness is a meditation technique aimed at focusing the mind on the present moment.
In this English-speaking class, we explore mindfulness teachings using the work of Pema Chödrön.
Each session begins with a teaching followed by a guided meditation. There will then be a brief discussion followed by either a silent meditation or a metta practice (loving kindness).
Whether you are a beginner or have been meditating for years, you are welcome at this class.

About the teacher:
Nisha developed a daily meditation practice in 2010 while she was at Sussex University, UK, and a member of the Buddhist Mindfulness and Meditation Society. After completing her studies, she deepened her meditation practice in the Triratna tradition at Brighton Buddhist Centre, then trained in the New Kadampa tradition of meditation at the Bodhisattva Kadampa Meditation Centre in Brighton. She completed her introductory course in Vipassana meditation in Jaipur, India, at Dhamma Thali, and went on to Kerala to learn about Ayurveda. Through her exploration of different meditation traditions, she favours a mindfulness approach.
She is currently working towards her PhD in American and British Literature at Humboldt University, and is specifically interested in contemporary poetry. She is a poet and editor, and has two published poetry collections available. Her other interests include tarot reading and the visual arts.
